One of the Premier Leagueโ€™s most in-demand players was in North London on Tuesday night to watch Arsenalโ€™s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 campaign as they secured all three points in their Champions League opener.

With 20 minutes on the clock, Kai Havertz put Mikel Artetaโ€™s side with his fifth goal of the season before stand-in captain Bukayo Saka doubled their lead from a free-kick.

Away from the in-game action and one of the biggest talking points online was the appearance of West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who watched on from the stands.

Kudus was linked with a host of clubs this summer, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, who held an interest in the player during his Ajax days.

Kudusโ€™ future has been a discussion point of late. A report from The Athletic detailed a โ€˜frank exchange of wordsโ€™ between Julen Lopetegui and the Ghanaian at half-time as West Ham trailed 1-0 to Brighton.

In addition to the above, Kudus felt the criticism he received from Lopetegui was โ€˜unfairโ€™, although club insiders claim the matter has been โ€˜blown out of proportionโ€™.

With all that being said, the midfielderโ€™s decision to visit the Emirates on Tuesday night has got people talking.

One fan wrote: โ€œI predict that he will be an Arsenal player soon,โ€ whilst another commented: โ€œMeanwhile Calafiori was at the Emirates to watch Arsenal in January too. Hmmm.โ€

A third wrote: โ€œWe get him and we are set for some years to come. But could be expensive.โ€

A fourth said: โ€œEdu is working his magic again,โ€ and a fifth added: โ€œI imagine heโ€™s just there to watch Partey, but I guess weโ€™ll never know.โ€

Back in March, Kudus confirmed that he turned down a move to Arsenal before joining West Ham last year for a reported fee of ยฃ38 million.

Speaking to The Guardian, who mentioned Arsenal, Brighton and Chelsea as clubs who looked at Kudus last summer, the 24-year-old gave an insight into his mindset before signing for the Hammers.

โ€œI was ready to make that step after the season I had at Ajax,โ€ he said.

โ€œIโ€™m a player who doesnโ€™t want to be in my comfort zone. I could have stayed at Ajax. I knew the league, I knew the club. But I donโ€™t want to be complacent and comfortable. I always want to challenge myself.

โ€œAll the clubs you mentioned, itโ€™s true they were in contact. But when West Ham came it moved fast and I made my decision based on speaking to people around the club, their project and how they see me as a player.โ€

Kudus added: โ€œI made the decision based on my gut feeling. Thatโ€™s how I make my decisions. Whatever the ramifications are, I take it upon myself.โ€
