My happiness is not complete yet, I want to win and score a hattrick against Liverpool tomorrow and that has always been my ambition,’ Erling Haaland says after Manchester City recent crisis.

Erling Haaland has encountered Liverpool on seven occasions across different tournaments, starting with his time at Red Bull Salzburg in the 2019-20 Champions League.

The Norwegian forward scored his maiden goal against Liverpool during a group-stage clash at Anfield, equalizing just four minutes after being substituted in during a 4-3 defeat. Nevertheless, he failed to score in the return match, where Salzburg suffered a 2-0 defeat in Austria.

Following his transfers to Borussia Dortmund and later Manchester City in 2022, Haaland has found it difficult to consistently perform against Liverpool.

His sole victory against the Reds occurred in December 2022, in the EFL Cup fourth round, where he netted the opening goal in a 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland’s first match for City against Liverpool in the 2022-23 Community Shield ended in disappointment, as Guardiola’s side lost 3-1 at the King Power Stadium, with the striker missing a late opportunity to score.

In Premier League matches, Haaland has yet to secure a victory over Liverpool (D2 L1). However, City triumphed 4-1 in April 2023 while he was absent due to a groin injury.

At Anfield, Haaland has neither scored nor won, recording one draw and one defeat as a City player. Yet, he did score during a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at the Etihad in November 2023.
