Rodri Hints at Real Madrid Move!

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has left the door open for a potential move to Real Madrid, acknowledging the allure of joining one of the most decorated clubs in football history. Speaking to Cadena Ser during an interview on El Larguero, the Spanish international expressed his admiration for the La Liga giants while reiterating his happiness at Manchester City.

The 28-year-old has been a cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s squad since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a fee of £62.6 million. During his time in England, Rodri has lifted 10 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and the coveted Champions League. This summer, he was pivotal in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph and subsequently edged out Vinícius Júnior to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or.

When asked about the possibility of joining Real Madrid, Rodri didn’t shy away:

“When Madrid, the best club in history and the most successful, call you, it’s an honour. You always have to pay attention,” he said.

“I feel very valued at the club. The Guardiola project is an important incentive,” he noted. “England has given me everything, and I love the football here. It’s a real possibility that I could finish my career in the Premier League.”

“But Spain is my country,” Rodri admitted. “I always pay attention to La Liga; the level of the teams is improving.”

Interestingly, Rodri hinted at the idea of retiring at Villarreal, where he started his professional career:

“Villarreal would be a good place,” he added, reflecting on his journey so far.
