PGMOL has officially awarded Kai Havertz’s disallowed goal to Arsenal following a recent review, acknowledging an error in the VAR check. PGMOL has issued an apology to Arsenal, and three points have now been credited to the team.

Arsenal’s recent Premier League faceoff against Chelsea, Kai Havertz briefly thought he had put Arsenal ahead by scoring against his former club.

The goal, however, was ruled out by VAR. The moment unfolded after Declan Rice took a swift free-kick, finding Havertz, who promptly drove the ball past Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.

Havertz celebrated with a gesture to silence the Chelsea fans, but VAR stepped in and called the play back due to offside.

The Premier League Match Centre later released a statement clarifying the decision.

According to the official explanation, referee Anthony Taylor initially allowed the goal.

However, VAR analysis revealed that Havertz had moved ahead of Chelsea defender Levi Colwill before Rice released the ball, which placed Havertz in an offside position.

This commitment to transparency is part of PGMOL chief Howard Webb’s approach to demystify VAR calls for both fans and players.

Arsenal entered the match in a bid to turn around a challenging streak.

Prior to the Chelsea game, the team had suffered setbacks, with recent losses to Inter Milan in the Champions League and to Newcastle in the league.

These results had raised concerns, and Arsenal was in need of a strong performance to regain form and push forward in the standings.

Despite recent struggles, Arsenal remains close to the top of the league.

Although they have not secured a Premier League victory since their October 5 match against Southampton, they are still within reach of the top position.

Manchester City, who have been one of Arsenal’s main title rivals, are also experiencing difficulties, having lost four games in a row.

This has created an opportunity for Arsenal and other title contenders to make a push.

Liverpool, currently leading by five points following a recent win over Aston Villa, is also a formidable competitor in the title race.

As the season advances, these teams remain poised to capitalize on any further slip-ups by City or each other.

Arsenal, despite their setbacks, are in the mix for the title, and they know the importance of each game in maintaining their position among the top teams in the league.

The team, along with their fans, hopes that their form will stabilize, especially with key matches coming up, as they aim to keep pace with Liverpool and other title-chasing clubs.

This season has seen intense competition among the league’s top teams, with Liverpool, Arsenal, and City all facing challenges that could shift the balance.

As the league continues, every point matters, and teams are pushing to maintain consistency amid the high stakes of the Premier League race.

Arsenal’s resilience will be tested as they strive to stay competitive in the title race, knowing that any slip could give their rivals the edge.
