Alexander Isak breaks silence on Arsenal transfer rumours after ‘contract talks with Newcastle break down’

Alexander Isak has addressed speculation about his potential departure from Newcastle, making it clear where he stands regarding his future. After an impressive season with 25 goals in 40 games, several top European clubs, including Arsenal, showed interest in the striker. While there were initial discussions about a move over the summer, these talks stalled and are not expected to resume. Reports of a “breakdown” between Isak and Newcastle have also surfaced.

Despite the rumors, Isak’s current contract runs until 2028, and both he and the club reportedly do not view a new deal as a priority. Speaking to *The Chronicle*, Isak stated he avoids engaging with transfer rumors during the season, noting that such speculation has followed him throughout his career but does not impact him. He emphasized that he is focused on his role at Newcastle and is committed to helping the team have a successful season. He dismissed much of the circulating information as untrue, reiterating his contentment at the club.

This season, Isak has scored five goals in 11 games and remains a player of interest for Arsenal. However, Newcastle would likely demand over £100 million for the 25-year-old, who joined the club for £63 million from Real Sociedad in 2022.
