SPORTING LISBON 4-1 MAN CITY: Ruben Amorim closed his time at Sporting Lisbon with a memorable 4-1 victory over Manchester City, marking one of the most significant wins in the clubโ€™s history and a statement ahead of his upcoming role with Manchester United.

Amorimโ€™s farewell was nothing short of spectacular as Sporting Lisbon outplayed the Premier League champions in the Champions League clash. Phil Foden gave City an early lead, capitalizing on a defensive error by Sporting. Despite City dominating much of the first half, Viktor Gyokeres brought the teams level with a sharp finish before halftime.

However, City unraveled after the break. Just 20 seconds into the second half, Maximiliano Araujo scored to put Sporting ahead. Moments later, Gyokeres scored again, this time from the penalty spot, extending Sportingโ€™s lead.

Erling Haaland had a chance to close the gap with a penalty of his own, but his shot hit the crossbar. Gyokeres then completed his hat-trick with a second penalty, sealing the victory in Amorimโ€™s final home game.
