Total Agreement reached’ – Fabrizio Romano says ‘elite’ striker is likely to join Arsenal for free next summer

**‘Total Agreement’ – Fabrizio Romano states that an ‘elite’ striker is expected to join Arsenal on a free transfer next summer**

Although the summer transfer window has just closed, speculation about next year’s market is already underway.

Numerous reports are circulating about players who may be on the move in 2025.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential transfer to Real Madrid stands out as a major storyline, alongside several other top players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, including Mohamed Salah and Leroy Sane.

Jonathan David, whose contract ends next year, is reportedly set to leave for free next summer, according to Fabrizio Romano on The Debrief.

Romano provided insights on the ‘elite’ striker’s situation. He stated, “I don’t think this is a topic for October, November, December or January. It will be for the second half of the season.” He noted that David will weigh multiple factors beyond financial considerations, such as the project and managerial aspects, indicating he won’t rush his decision.

Romano added that David’s agent is already in talks with several clubs across England, Italy, and Spain. He emphasized that Jonathan David is poised to be one of the most sought-after names in the summer of 2025 and that he intends to take his time before making a decision, implying this isn’t urgent for now or even for 2024.

With Arsenal and Tottenham both interested in Jonathan David, the big question remains which club he will ultimately choose.

Romano pointed out that while David’s agent is engaged with various teams, a Premier League move could be particularly attractive. Arsenal has recently shown interest as they search for a new striker, while Tottenham has been a long-time admirer. Though Spurs just signed Dominic Solanke, their need for a striker may arise again if Richarlison moves to Saudi Arabia.

Aston Villa is also reported to be keen on David, suggesting a pathway for him in the Premier League if he opts for that direction.

As we look ahead to 2025, Jonathan David is certainly a player to watch closely.
