Guardiola Hails Specific Arsenal Player After Outstanding Performance Against Leicester City. He Said “Arsenal Has Become So Dangerous Ever Since They Signed Him But Personally I Think He Deserved A Better Club And That’s Why I’m Doing My Best To Sign Him…We Have Table £120m For Him Ahead Of January Transfer Window”: Pep Gaurdiorla Says Arsenal Has ONE Player Who Deserves Better, Vows To Sign Him.
Arsenal have made an impressive start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, securing four wins and two draws from their first six matches. Despite facing a challenging set of fixtures, they are just one point behind league leaders Liverpool.
In their latest match, Arsenal secured a dramatic 4-2 victory over Leicester City. The game had been tied at 2-2 when stoppage time arrived, but an own goal and a strike from Kai Havertz sealed all three points for the Gunners.
While several players have stood out this season, one of the most captivating storylines has been the performance of goalkeeper David Raya, whose contributions have been a key factor in Arsenal’s strong start. Kevin Nolan, the former Premier League player, has praised Raya for his outstanding performances and believes he is among the best goalkeepers in the league.
Raya has played a crucial role for Arsenal this season, notably saving a penalty in their 2-2 draw against Atalanta in their first UEFA Champions League match. Nolan has been particularly impressed by how much Raya has improved since joining Arsenal from Brentford in the summer of 2023. He described the Spanish goalkeeper as a “complete” player.
“When Arsenal signed David Raya, many wondered why they were bringing him in, given Ramsdale’s strong performances the previous season,” Nolan said on BBC Sport. “But what Raya has done is make the team better. He’s brought Arsenal closer to Manchester City’s level. When you watch him now, you can see he’s a complete goalkeeper. He makes excellent saves and is great with the ball at his feet.”
Nolan went on to explain that Raya’s performances have made him one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. “You look at the top two keepers in the league, and for me, it’s always been Alisson and Ederson at Manchester City, and now you have to include Raya. He’s taken Arsenal to another level with his presence in goal.”
Raya’s solid performances have been one of the defining aspects of Arsenal’s strong early season form, and with his growing reputation, he has become a key figure for Mikel Arteta’s side. His ability to command the area, make crucial saves, and distribute the ball effectively has added another layer of quality to an already talented Arsenal squad.
