Manchester City Claim Victory in Legal Battle Over APT Rules**
Manchester City may have scored a significant win in their legal battle with the Premier League over Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules, according to new reports.
The club is currently facing 115 charges related to alleged breaches of the Premier Leagueโs profit and sustainability rules, stemming from 2009 to 2018, which focus on financial irregularities. City have firmly denied the accusations and claim they were treated unfairly in how the Premier League assessed their commercial income, citing the use of rival-linked data company Nielsen.
In a separate legal case, City have contested the APT rules introduced in 2021, which were aimed at preventing clubs from inflating sponsorship deals with companies linked to their owners. A crucial vote on amending these rules, involving all 20 Premier League clubs, was unexpectedly pulled at the last minute, hinting at a potential victory for
City.
