Arsenal’s squad photo for the 24/25 season has got Manchester City fans talking.
In the past two seasons, Arsenal and Manchester City have been competing for the Premier League title. Despite Arsenal’s strong efforts, they fell short both times as Pep Guardiola’s team proved too dominant. This season, both teams are again seen as the top contenders for the title.
As they prepare for their upcoming match at the Etihad Stadium, City fans have reacted to Arsenal’s squad photo for the 2024/25 season. On social media, one fan quipped, “They won zero trophies, so they had to use balls instead.” Another remarked, “No trophies won, you guys had to use balls instead.” A third comment echoed this sentiment: “Winning nothing. Again!” Lastly, someone noted sarcastically, “Nice trophy there.”
Before facing Manchester City, Arsenal must first contend with a challenging Champions League match against Europa League champions Atalanta.
Ahead of the game in Bergamo, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta commented, “It’s different, but here we are, playing in the Champions League on a Thursday night. We’re really happy, motivated, and excited for our first match.
“It’s a tough venue; they’ve built something remarkable here, and their achievements last season were impressive. But this is a new season, and we want to start off right.”
He also noted, “We’re energized by what happened on Sunday, which was fantastic. We’ve recovered some key players, which is crucial, and we’re competing in a tournament we truly love, so we’re focusing on the positives.”
Meanwhile, City began their Champions League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
