Ilkay Gundogan has ‘told’ Pep Guardiola who Man City should sign out of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz

Ilkay Gundogan has already made his feelings clear on who Manchester City should sign out of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz.

In recent seasons, young talents Musiala and Wirtz have emerged as two of the most promising players in global football.

Musiala has garnered attention with his performances for Bayern Munich and has secured a regular spot in Germany’s national team.

Similarly, Wirtz was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s triumph as Bundesliga champions last season.

Both players have drawn interest from Premier League teams like City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

During EURO 2024, Gundogan, who rejoined City last month, praised Musiala highly.

According to Hayters, the midfielder remarked: “For me, he’s incredible. Playing with him is a joy because he can do the unexpected in any situation and is a game-changer for our team.”

He continued: “He might be the most crucial player for us, even at such a young age, especially in terms of creating opportunities, dribbling, providing key passes, and scoring goals, which he has recently added to his repertoire—a vital trait for someone in an offensive role.”

Gundogan added, “I admire him. He’s a complete player and a genuinely nice, humble person. If he continues his current trajectory, he has the potential to become one of the best.”

In a recent interview with Welt Am Sonntag, as reported by GOAL, the 21-year-old Musiala stated: “I’m very happy at FC Bayern and completely focused on our objectives. Regarding playing abroad like (Jude) Bellingham? I’m not considering where I’ll be in five years. In football, things can change rapidly.”

Musiala has had a strong beginning to the 24/25 Bundesliga season, scoring once in two games under new manager Vincent Kompany.
