Man City have blown away the Premier League by announcing £77.5m signing of world class star

Manchester City and the star defender have finally agreed on a cost of £77.5 million, with a medical expected for Friday. Manchester City are on the verge of completing the signing of Josko Gvardiol after agreeing to a fee of £77.5 million (€90 million) with RB Leipzig.
Pep Guardiola has been after the 21-year-old defender all summer, but the two clubs originally couldn’t agree on a transfer deal.
RB Leipzig reportedly set an August 12 deadline for Manchester City to strike an agreement because they wanted enough time to locate a quality replacement for Gvardiol.
Finally, today, City and Leipzig managed to agree on the fee, paving the way for the Croatian defender to join the Premier League champions.

The fee agreed is just below the £80m Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019 which made him the most expensive defender in the world.
Once the deal is finalized, Gvardiol will become Manchester City’s second signing of the summer, following the signing of Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for £25 million.
