Jay-Z could be ready to launch Tottenham takeover bid despite previous Arsenal allegiance.
Rap icon Jay-Z is reportedly interested in a potential takeover bid for Tottenham, depending on what happens with current owner Joe Lewis.
This is according to a report from the Daily Express, who suggest that Jay-Z is expressing a serious interest in Spurs in case Lewis ends up being convicted for fraud and insider trading.
The 53-year-old, who is estimated to be worth £1.95 billion, has already expressed interest in investing in Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal, so it remains to be seen whether his investment in Spurs will be well received by the club’s fans.
Jay-Z stated that Thierry Henry inspired him to support Arsenal, but a contract never materialized.
Tottenham could benefit from new ownership after becoming stagnant in recent years, but Jay-Z isn’t exactly an expert when it comes to running a football club.
He is, nevertheless, a co-owner of the NBA basketball team New Jersey Nets.
