Man United have stunned everyone by terminating the contract of their star player today
Manchester United could terminate star’s contract to allow free transfer. According to Real Betis, Manchester United may decide to void Eric Bailly’s contract this summer in order to let him leave the team for free.
The Ivory Coast international has struggled at Old Trafford and had a disappointing loan season at Marseille, so it’s not surprising that he doesn’t appear to be planning to make that move permanent.
According to AS, Bailly is starting to stand out as a viable alternative for Betis, who believe there is a chance he might wind up joining on a free transfer.
That may have been the best course of action for United since it gave them a simple, quick way to get rid of a player they didn’t want.

The realistic alternative is that MUFC struggle to find buyers for Bailly this summer and then see him leave on a free in a year’s time anyway.
Bailly had a decent spell in Spain earlier in his career with Villarreal and it will be interesting to see if he can revive his career with Betis.
