According to La Repubblica, another Italian could well be on the move to St. James’ Park in the wake of Sandro Tonali’s recent move to Newcastle.
They even mention that the player in question is dressed in a black and white shirt and is prepared to begin the new season.
Given that he presently represents Juventus in Serie A, that could be a little confusing, but it is made clear later in the piece that Federico Chiesa is referring to Newcastle.
The player, who is valued at £55 million, would undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to a team that is already brimming with talent and that will soon undoubtedly end the curse of not having won a significant trophy in more than 50 years.
Maintaining everyone’s happiness will likely be Howe’s only challenge, but it isn’t the worst issue a football manager might face.
