Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is set to take the Celta Vigo job. Benitez has been out of work since he was sacked by Everton in January 2022.
The Spaniard was linked with a move to the Middle East and almost took the Leicester City job before they opted for Enzo Maresca.
He has now reached an agreement on a three-year contract with Celta to take Carlos Carvalhal’s place as manager.
Benitez started his professional career with the Real Madrid development program, but he became famous with Valencia.
Before making a highly successful move to Liverpool, the 63-year-old won two LaLiga championships. While playing at Anfield, he also won the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Benitez spent time with Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli, Real Madrid, and Newcastle after that.
