Man United have received horrific news about Antony

Concern for Antony as Man United worry attacker has suffered reoccurring ankle injury.

Antony, a wide attacker for Manchester United, may have had a recurring ankle ailment.

According to a recent report from BBC Sport, the South American has sustained the same injury that sidelined him for his final eight weeks at Ajax, and the Red Devils are worried.

On Thursday night in the Premier League, Antony, 23, started against Chelsea at Old Trafford. Despite a strong effort by Manchester United, which saw them defeat the Londoners 4-1 and secure their spot in the Champions League for the following season, Antony’s injury in the first half dampened their celebrations.

The crafty South American, who was sandwiched between Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana, was seen writhing in pain and grasping at his lower leg.

The 23-year-old was supposed to get up, but instead of doing so, referee Stuart Atwell had to restart the game. As a result, Manchester United’s medical staff was summoned, and after just 29 minutes, Marcus Rashford was substituted in for the injured winger.

The player’s ability to heal in time to play against Manchester City in the FA Cup final next month will be the main worry for both the Red Devils and the player.

The manager, Erik Ten Hag, was cited by the Mirror as saying to reporters about the former Ajax attacker’s potentially season-ending injury: “Everyone has seen him come off, but I don’t know how he is. I can tell you that it’s serious, but we won’t know more about the extent of his injury until at least 24 hours have passed.
